Is it better to visit the Sagrada Família in the morning or afternoon?

Morning at the Sagrada Família suits bluer Nativity windows; afternoon suits Golden Hour's 16:00 departure and orange west windows described in the official booklets. The Golden Hour name does not guarantee sunset light; season and cloud cover affect the windows. Rain does not trigger a weather refund; cancellation at least 24 hours before departure still gives a full refund.

Your ticket: €26 on the basic ticket page covers the Basilica and museum with an audioguide. The Golden Hour Tour starts from €120 per adult against €26, adding English guiding.

The official guided tour ticket page lists €30 for entry and about 50 minutes with a guide. The Golden Hour Tour lasts 75 minutes overall, with up to 10 people.

Cancellation policy

Free cancellation up to 24 hours before departure. Later cancellations get no refund. Bookings made more than 9 days ahead are confirmed instantly; later bookings are confirmed by the operator. Rain can dull the window colours; the Golden Hour Tour still runs in rain without a weather refund. Cancellation at least 24 hours before your scheduled departure gives a full refund.

Know before you go

• The Basilica's FAQ requires official photo ID matching your ticket name. Bring the ID used for your booking; names cannot be changed after purchase.
• Your Basilica ticket is valid only for its booked date and time. Late arrivals cannot enter, and you cannot return after leaving the grounds.
• The Basilica's rules require trousers and skirts to reach at least mid-thigh. Transparent clothing and swimwear are not allowed. Shoulders must be covered in the Chapel of the Holy Sacrament.
• Reserved admission still requires the Basilica's security checks. Bags and personal items pass through metal detectors. Food and drinks from outside are not allowed in.
• The Golden Hour Tour is wheelchair accessible and accepts prams. Visitors under 16 must have an adult with them.
• Cancellation at least 24 hours before your scheduled departure gives a full refund; later cancellations receive no refund.
