Which Sagrada Família tower is better?

Our choice at €36 per adult is the Nativity tower for its link to Gaudí's work, or the Passion tower for city centre views. The €26 Basilica ticket is enough if the stained glass is your priority. The recommendation is editorial; the Basilica gives no official ranking.

The official tower ticket page lists €36 per adult for the Basilica and museum, with one tower and the audioguide app. You choose the tower when buying. Both routes require a lift up and stairs down; neither is step-free.

Nativity tower: the eastern view

The Nativity tower looks over eastern Barcelona; €36 per adult includes the Basilica and museum with one tower visit. The Nativity façade stands on Carrer de la Marina. Morning sun lights the Nativity portals and the bluer windows inside.

Work on the Nativity façade began during Gaudí's lifetime. The Basilica's history page identifies Saint Barnabas as the only bell tower Gaudí saw finished. Choose the Nativity tower if that connection matters most to you.

Plan around: the Nativity tower if the link to Gaudí's work is your priority.

Passion tower: the city centre view

The Passion tower looks over Barcelona's city centre; €36 per adult includes the Basilica and museum with one tower visit. The Passion façade stands on Carrer de Sardenya. Evening light reaches the western façade and the orange glass inside.

The Passion façade has 4 bell towers above a portal supported by 6 slanting columns, as described in the official booklets. Josep Maria Subirachs made the sculpture groups. The western façade's orientation does not guarantee a sunset view from the Passion tower.

Plan around: the Passion tower for city centre views, within the available visiting hours.

How do you book a Sagrada Família tower?

You can buy Sagrada Família tower tickets about 2 months ahead through the official website or app, as the Basilica's FAQ explains. You choose the Nativity or Passion tower during purchase. Your ticket name cannot be changed after purchase.

Every Sagrada Família ticket is valid only on the booked date and time. Bring the photo ID that matches your ticket, as the Basilica's rules require. Be at the entrance at your booked time. Late arrivals cannot enter the Sagrada Família.

The Basilica's opening-hours page lists the current hours: In October, the Basilica opens 9:00–19:00 Monday to Friday, 9:00–18:00 on Saturday and 10:30–19:00 on Sunday. The general entrance is on Carrer de la Marina, whichever tower you choose. Once you leave the grounds, your ticket does not allow you back in.

If your chosen tower has no slots, check the other side or another date. A tour is an alternative only when your selected option includes tower access.

Plan around: your booked entry time and the tower side available for your date.
